The Face Behind the Lens | Sean R Heavey

Sean is a man of many talents, born and raised in the sunny Pacific Northwest. He moved to Montana for skiing—and because college didn’t require a foreign language. Planning to return to the hustle of city life, he instead fell in love and never looked back.

Since then, Sean has spent years driving Montana’s endless dusty backroads and cow trails, photographing the countryside, the ever-changing sky above, and the remnants of past generations.

His photographs have been published around the world and seen by millions. His work hangs in private and corporate collections across the U.S. and Europe. Vice President Al Gore has used Sean’s images in presentations to highlight the challenges of global climate change, and Sean’s career took a new turn when he was featured in Apple’s “Your Verse” iPad campaign.

As if he needed another project, Sean purchased a piece of downtown Glasgow, Montana, and poured countless hours into restoring it—scraping floors, patching walls, and bringing new life to the Hi-Line. Today, the building is home to a top-notch coffee shop, a barbershop, and the Glasgow Courier newspaper.
